Camera using SD card but not a subscription.

  • Hello, will I be able to get video from the camera with an installed SD card but with no subscription?

Thank you for inquiring about using a microSD card for your Roku Smart home camera. We would be more than willing to provide you with further details.

Please note that the Smart Home subscription allows you to record events directly to the cloud. This means they can be viewed on the Roku Smart Home mobile app for up to 14 days from the time of recording. They can also be saved directly to the phone or tablet for permanent keeping.

In the meantime, the SD card would be seen more as a failsafe/backup. If the smart home subscription does not pick up the motion and you have an SD card inserted into the camera recording all events, then you could remove the card and view the missed time where a motion event was not detected.
