so i have a roku ultra with a usb drive i have the video files on the usb drive but when i open the folder it says the folder is empty im assuming the videos need to be converted so the media player app can see them but im lost they are all .mkv files so idk why they wont play

MKV is just a container and it's what's inside that matters, but I don't think that's the problem. I just tried an experiment where I renamed a text file with a ".mkv" extension and it shows up. I assume the folders on the drive show up. Try putting a file in the root directory to see if it shows up.

the folders do indeed show up but when i open them the folder is empty i will try the root of the drive and see what happens
