audio description of Apple iTunes content non existent on Roku TV

Let me start by saying that I absolutely LOVE my new Roku TV. The voice program and audio description features are miles better than the others I have had experience with. However, I am very upset with the discovery that all of the iTunes content containing an audio description track when viewed on the actual Apple TV doesn’t seem to have this accommodation when the same exact content is viewed via the Apple app on the Roku TV. For example, I hit the shortcut key on my remote to launch my Apple items, selected a movie and began playing it. When the audio description track didn’t automatically start playing I pressed the star button and navigated through to the audio track feature only to find that no option for English AD (audio description) was offered. I’m hoping someone can advise me and either tell me what I need to do to remedy the situation or provide me with an explanation as to why this crucial accessibility mode isn’t universal across devices. If I can access my iTunes content on my Roku TV it makes logical sense that all the features the content offers should be available as well, right? Fingers crossed that someone out there has some answers for me. Thanks!

Wrong language or verbal description of action on screen when watching program
Some programs contain multiple audio tracks that can be selected, such as different languages or verbal action descriptions for the visually impaired.

The Roku default method of accessing your choice of audio track is to press the * key on your Roku remote while viewing the program and examining the options presented.

But more and more channels are not using the Roku default but substituting their own method of access -- I'm guessing this is so they will have consistent controls with versions of their app running on platforms other than Roku. Often these options are accessed by pressing the up and/or down cursor control keys while viewing the program to pop the channel's own control options on the screen.
