Re: Youtube TV Recordings Still Freeze
Second update;
I spoke too soon. My 2-3 day vacation from freezing after forwarding or reversing a YTTV recording has ended.
I just got a freeze after reversing a recording just a few seconds.

Re: Roku ultra is still freezing (Feb 2025) when forwarding or reversing
When, if ever, will there be answers to this issue?? Mine began about May 2024 when I first reported it and now again in Feb 2025. And in March 2025 Issues have remained consistent almost a year.
Seems very sad a company would go that long and not solve or just say can't solve the freezing issue. How about my question from this Feb submission: We have had about six good years using this Ultra and will happily buy the new 2024 Ultra release 4850 if you think that “might” (not will) fix the issue faster than waiting another long period of time for updates? LMK.
Thank YOU
Gene

Re: Roku ultra is still freezing (Feb 2025) when forwarding or reversing
Thanks for keeping us posted @gjcnjc,
We would like to investigate the issue further. Please share to us the current OS version of the Roku device. Additionally, try the following details below:
Restart the Roku device:
- Press Home on your Roku remote
- Scroll and select Settings
- Select System
- Select Power. If you do not see a Power submenu, skip to the next step.
- Select System restart
For more help, please visit our Roku support article: How to system restart your Roku streaming device.

Re: Roku ultra is still freezing (Feb 2025) when forwarding or reversing
As Gene reported, this as been going on about a year. Nothing changes. I've tried all the recommendations: ugrading, removing/reinstalling, etc. I tried the lastest system restart recommendation yesterday; this is not the first time I tried that. Things were OK for a day, but that means nothing, because you never know when the freezing will happen.
And it froze again this morning. As on previous freezing events, it froze today when I started watching YTTV on TV1 with Roku1. Moved to another room to resume the YTTV program on TV2 with Roku2. Would not resume, Black screen. Reversed to beginning of program, and was able resume the program and FF to where I was. This approach does not always work, and I have to watch YTTV by another, less convenient method.
And it doesn't appear to be a problem only in recorded programs. A couple a days ago, it froze in a LIVE show, when I reversed a few seconds and tried to resume from that earlier point.
I retired from working in software service for one of the US's largest computer companies. Heads would have rolled if we had not fixed a problem in a year.
Stats from today's freeze. Not that I expect much to come from reporting this.
Model: 3810X _ Roku Streaming Stick+
Serial: YH005F588319 (213975588319)
Software: 14.1.4 Build 7709-50
GC: 13.4.9
Timestamp: 2025-03-20T16:16:55Z
Issue ID 19-113-296
UPDATE:
About 8 hours later, I tried to resume the same program that was frozen this morning, after I had unfrozen it by reversing to the start. Now it's frozen again. I IMMEDIATELY did a system reset, came back in, and it's still frozen. Resetting the system is not a solution.
It does not like to stop a YTTV program and exit both YTTV and Roku and then pick up where you left off, be it a few minutes or hours later.
