Re: YouTubeTv app constantly buffering

Jump to solution

@nvalidagility I kind of agree with you, on the other hand, the app YouTubeTv created for a Roku box may be different than an app on your phone or browsing directly to it.  They could certainly have a bug in that app.  When YouTubeTV rolled out "jump back to last channel", they had some issues to correct on the Roku app.

FYI, it is still happening to me so I will need to contract YTT also, but I am pissed that Roku had me collect Tracker IDs for the event and then seemed to totally ignore them, or at least refused to update me with what they found.

I have performed these steps (again) and will let you know if it comes back.  I will also contact YouTubeTv.

  1. Uninstall the channel by highlighting it, pressing the * button, and selecting "remove".
  2. Clear cache and data: From the Roku home screen, navigate to Settings > System > Advanced system settings > Network connection reset. Choose "Reset connection" and then-
  3. Restart your Roku device by unplugging your TV and then plugging it back in. This step can help clear any temporary cache or data-causing issues.
  4. Check your internet connection: Ensure that your Roku device is connected to a stable internet connection. You can test your internet connection by going to Settings > Network > Check connection on your Roku device. If your connection is weak or unstable, try restarting your router or contacting your internet service provider for assistance.
  5. Reinstall the channel by pressing the home button on your Roku remote, scrolling and selecting "Store", and then adding the channel from there.

One annoyance, once I remove YouTubeTv app and try to re-add it from the Roku box, it is not easy to find.  Under the "Add" section you show lots of apps I don't care about, but the world's most popular app is not there.  I have to go to the search feature and type in "You" to find it.  I guess YouTubeTv does not pay you enough money for you to make the world's most common streaming app available at the top of the list?  I am sure you know that I have used it before, just 10 minutes ago, so maybe you could use some Actual Intelligence to show it to me first?
