Solving playback issues

@Aldz It may not be Roku. I can't get Windows 11 to work with any of my devices, but my Windows 10 laptop still works just fine. Microsoft changed something, and we as end users have no idea if it's something that Roku can resolve. It's equally possible that it's something Microsoft messed up and hasn't resolved yet. I know I can send my iPhone to my Roku devices as well, so some forms of screen mirroring still work just fine.

what is Miracast? why do i have to buy extra money for this when if ROku or microsoft could fix this issu  then i would not need this to connect to my lap top!  I should have bought a better tv or a better computer if its microsoft edge 11 that is the problem.

If its window laptop problem then it very well could be if not Roku tv!   Some days  I am fed up with Microsoft edge computers. The  laptop  wont even start right off half the time.I have to wait  like 5 minutes sometimes.

Thanks. That is  interesting!   i had a wiondows vista up to last year and even that worked better than microsoft edge 11.    It was working connecting to my lap top  for awhile and then suddenly doesnt work connecting.  Who knows if it will go back to working again.  Microsoft windows 11 also has other issues too where  i sometimes  start the laptop  and it wont load  the internet  for like 5 or 10 or 15 minutes.Once it was 40 minutes. This  hard to load problem is  just some days but it happens  every week.

Miracast is an international standard, but I believe Microsoft is the major user of the protocol. It has hardware and software requirements, which is why most non-laptop computers don’t support it. I’m simply guessing, but Windows 11 has never worked for screen sharing on Roku devices, and I feel it could be as much Microsoft’s fault as possibly Roku’s. Without knowing the internal software of both, there’s no way to know for certain.

I also tried all the recommended solutions.  The only solution I could come up with is to use the Chromecast device. The only drawback with that is you have to leave the volume turned up on your laptop for it to cast the audio to the roku tv.
