Ultra overheating message

Jump to solution

I got the overheating message a few months ago and followed the instructions on the help page. I moved the player. I built a small, ventilated stand and no problems until now. Same message is once again appearing on my screen. I entered the Roku chat today and was told to buy a new unit because my Ultra was outdated. Anybody have a similar experience? I would like to make sure before I buy another unit.

I have had similar issues for some time. I finally solved them by taking off the rubber pad on bottom of the Roku device. The rubber pad causes the heat to build up in the ROKU. I also set my ROKU on a small wire grate to allow air circulation underneath it. I haven't had an overheating message for at least 10 months.
