It works for the first 5 live channels, and the last 64 (total 69).
It's possible that it over-writes the channel list, or limits the number of channels.
I did not notice this before because they were all filtered, non-favorite channels.
I checked over 100 channels on two Roku devises with exactly the same results.
Roku Express HD - 3960RW
Roku 3900X
Roku 3
Thought it was only the first 5 on the channel list as the rest seemed to fail.
Then I noted it also included the last 64 in order on the list!
Failure: selected channel dropped back to the guide on both live TV and a recorded show.
Recording:
A new working live channel recording works and can be re-played.
An old non-working channel recording can NOT be pre-played.
First 5:
ion, iFC Film Picks, Walking Dead, Laff More, History Time,
Last 64:
Stories By AMC, AMC Thrillers, ion/MYSETRY, TOTLA CRIME, etc...
I now checked a third Roku device -
Roku 4230X
with the same results (first 5, last 64 in the channel list work).
@rowque thx for the detailed information. Am I reading it correctly that you are NOT speaking of using an OTA antenna? Your steps are for live channels over the internet?
I'm using an antenna.
All the channels work on other devices that access Tablo, just NOT on Roku.
I'm not sure why you're deducing that I'm not using an antenna.
@rowque my bad. Sorry. I thought you mentioned "live channels" and that maybe think you were talking about the live tv Roku channel that brings in TV channels via the internet. I haven't experienced the exact Behavior you have so I was trying to figure out just more about the problem and what we're all dealing with.
Other devices that access local the Tablo access all channels.
For instance the Tablo app on my iPhone works.
Let me try this... I'll disconnect my antenna.
Now - only the first 5 / last 64 work on my iPhone Tablo App (not fully confirmed, but a few channels validates this).
Re-connect my antenna and all the channels work on the iPhone/Tablo app.
The local antenna Tablo channels fail on Roku while the internet channels do not.
So the theory is: This is not because I don't have an antenna, It's because the Roku OS has an issue.
Guess we all need to run out and get one since Roku isn't fixing the problem.
Ordered a new Firestick today. Amazon had this one 40% off next day delivery. I will see how this works. Hopefully well since Dish cuts off the 26th! We are living on someone else’s timeline so a loss of sale is regrettable to you but necessary for me!
Goodbye Rolu, This has been more arduous than climbing up to repair and realign my antenna!
We stopped being "understanding"... I'm now on a mission to warn my community to boycott roku and not purchase their products going forward.
If you simply rolled back your previous software that WORKED with tablo, you would have happy customers. Obviously there's some profit here preventing your fixing this.
I'm done, but my information campaign has only just begun.
Roku, you truly SUCK!!
