TV connected to Roku streaming stick, crackling so much it is difficult to understand audio. Only when using Roku; does not happen with antenna or DVD player. Tried restarting Roku, unplugging (for several hours) both TV and Roku and adjusting setting in Roku for audio. There is no difference. What can be done to get a clear audio
Have you tried connecting the Roku to a different HDMI port on the TV, maybe swapping ports with the DVD player?
I unplugged the Roku Streaming stick from the HDMI for a few hours and placed it into another HDMI port; no difference in the audio crackling. Thank you for the suggestion, though.
You may have "volume modes" enabled causing the volume changes.
Do this:
1) During playback (any video): Press Options (*)/Volume Mode = Off
..and if it persists try this:
1) Settings/Audio/digital output format = Stereo (if it was configured for DD+/DD)
Otherwise ad insertions/breaks are known to cause volume changes/dropouts/latency/stuttering/noise/etc - you cannot prevent this aside from limiting ad playback via higher subscription levels (some services), and you'll need to direct complaints about this to Roku and/or the app/service provider about the issue.
Thank you for the suggestion, however, there is no noticeable difference. As well, tried another Roku stick and that had the same issues.
