I have a Roku ultra box, connected to a NAS to stream video files. The Roku is connected to a Marantz SR7009 by HDMI. The NAS also contains hi-res 24/192 and 24/96 FLAC audio files. The Marantz can stream hi-res audio, but the streaming software interface is archaic and crashes frequently. The Roku interface is easier to use and reliable.
I searched the archives, and read conflicting answers. Some say yes, hi-res files can pass through intact, other say no, that hi-res files are downsampled to 16/44 or 16/48.
So which is it ? Can my Roku box pass through hi-res audio intact and without alteration or downsampling ?
Thanks !
My Roku Ultra (not the latest 2022 revision) will stream 24/96 intact but reverts to 16/48 on 24/192 files. The Roku is hooked via HDMI cable into my Denon AVR-X3500H receiver...I'm able to check the resolution of the Roku audio output at any time.
Hi @rjlohr1004 .
Thanks for posting in the Roku Community.
We understand that you're having audio issues with your Roku Ultra 4K. This is not the experience that we'd like you to have.
Do you experiencing the same issue if you connect the Roku device directly to your TV?
Let us know if the issue still persists.
Best regards,
Mel
