Looks like all is well in PBS/Roku world again. Same as others, when I selected PBS app I was greeted with an activation screen. I followed the steps to do so and PBS and PBS Passport work

Starting Saturday evening, 11/16/24, the PBS app on Roku crashed on launch due to receiving an invalid "date" value from Roku's operating system .
Roku appears to have resolved this issue this morning. Our development team will be placing additional safeguards in the app to prevent this in the future.
We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your support of PBS and your local PBS station.

afaik, it was just OS 14.0.4 build 12230 that was having problems, and older models with build 12221 were okay. But I received this reply from PBS today, indicating they think the problem has been identified and solved:

My Roku PBS/OPB, including my Passport membership are not working. It's not my TV it's your or PBS's service that aren't working. Please keep us informed about progress in fixing this.
