Older movies (1940-50’s) freeze up during viewing. Have to back out and resume movie.

In viewing older movies, i.e., created in ‘40’s/‘50’s -John Wayne, Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, etc., will freeze up during playback several times. Also, some ads, Etsy, will play and then freeze up.
Is this my Roku or what?  It’s very disruptive and annoying.

What service are you using to watch them? Are these on The Roku Channel, or somewhere else?

Hi @tlr1953,

Just wanted to say thank you for joining us here in the Roku Community!

We'd like to learn more about this playback you're running into. Could you tell us if you're only observing this behavior happening on this specific content? Have you tried any other show to see if that makes a difference?

Let us know more about this so that we can provide you with the appropriate next step.

Thanks,

Seems to be only old westerns and some of the ads. Sounds crazy, I know.

@tlr1953,

Thanks for the update!

If you can still replicate it, please help us provide the details below so that we can even learn more about this.

  • Roku device model, serial number, device ID, and software OS/version (these can all be found in Settings > System > About).
  • Tracker ID when this issue occurs (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button five times, followed by the Back button five times, and provide us with this ID).
  • Content title example
  • Under what channel is this?

Please keep us posted!

Thanks,
Rey
