Update: Bought the Google streamer 4k. Left it in its bag uninstalled near the Roku. Since then no problems with fast forward, and I used it extensively yesterday during the NFL games. Last O/S update was 10/9, yesterday was 11/17. Seriously.
William Roku ever fix this issue or do I need to ditch Roku?? I have several different models and they all do it! I'm tired of all z BS fixes!!!

Could you please provide your device details below so we can include them in the ongoing investigation?
We are looking forward to hearing from you.

I had to press Home 5 times and Back button 5 times twice to get the tracker ID to appear, so hope it's the correct tracker ID.

This happens to several of our TV's (not just this one). TV's use Roku Ultra's or 4K sticks.
Streaming speeds range around 100Mps to 600Mps. This has been happening for many months. Even tried lowering the video quality w/ no luck.
Still haven't heard anything from you. I guess no one gets Roku for Christmas this year 😞
They don't have a clue how to fix it... I've been having the same exact issues for nine months. No update. Slight improvement, but it still freezes just as you want to see the person sink the putt! I was going to switch to a Firestick but I think they might have issues as well. Sucks! Such a basic function.
I have a hack that works temporarily, but it's a pain. You press the Home button 5 times, then the "up" button once, then the left fast backward button twice, then the right fast forward button twice. Then be patient and wait... as long as 30 seconds. The system then resets and it usually works for a bit. It's some secret code that someone else shared.
I decided to give up on Roku since as you state, it's been going on for way too long and they either don't care to fix it or don't know how. I got a Google TV Streamer 4k about a week ago and haven't had a single playback issue since. I like the Google TV interface better and how the device integrates with my Google home automation, but mainly I'm just happy I can watch YouTube TV again without any playback issues.
Thanks! I’ll check it out.
