Netflix on Roku Streambar constantly crashing

I keep having problems with streaming Netflix on Roku. It's really getting frustrating. First it would freeze or be super laggy. So I restarted the Roku...no difference. Uninstalled Netflix and tried to reinstall but now it won't reinstall. WTF. I've been a loyal Roku user for over a decade but I'm losing patience. I'm ready to move on.

Now I cant login to Netflix...this sucks. I'm so tired of **bleep**ty Roku performance

What model of Roku are you using and what version of the OS?  If it is an old Roku Device or one with an older OS, that might explain the reason you are having issues with the app because an older device or older OS might not be able to handle the latest Netflix app updates.

If that is not the case, it is possible it is an app issue, Roku does not control how those apps are programmed unless they own the channels themselves, although I have not seen any Netflix issue with the Ultra I have.

I know you said you have done some of the troubleshooting steps, but I suggest Uninstalling the app, then restarting or even unplugging the Roku device for 30 to 60 seconds and then reinstalling the app again.

It is a Roku Streambar https://www.roku.com/products/audio/roku-streambar 

I've had it for a couple of years and it is a POS, the speaker is garbage. It doesn't work with my terrestrial channels, which drives me crazy. I have to unplug it for the audio to work. 

I've found that Netflix gets really laggy, and crashes. Its a pain.

We understand your frustration about the Netflix issue you're experiencing on your Roku Streambar, and we'd like to help you get back up and running.

To help us in the investigation, could you please provide your device details?

  • Roku device model, serial number, device ID, and Software Version. (these can all be found in Settings > System > About)
  • Tracker ID (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button five times, followed by the Back button five times, and provide us with this ID)
  • Channel build version (Highlight the app from the Home Screen and press the Star * Button)
