Media button is not shown in mobile app - trying to view photos on Roku 3

Jump to solution

Followed the instructions to use "Play on Roku" however I only see icons for "Remote" (which works) and "Apps on Roku".  Using a Roku 3.  model 4230X.  Phone is Android.

Thanks.

Hi, @Digital_Larry

Thanks for posting here in the Roku Community.

Please note that the option is no longer available on the Roku Mobile App. However, you can still utilize Airplay and Screen mirroring as an alternative.

For detailed instructions on how to use it, please refer to the following guided steps.

  1. How to screen mirror your Android™ or Windows® phone to your Roku® streaming device
  2. How to use AirPlay and HomeKit with your Roku streaming device

Let us know if you have further concerns or inquries.

Best wishes,
Kash

I believe "Play on Roku" is dead.  I don't know why the documentation hasn't been updated. 🙄
