He was referring to the spam post directly above his.  This forum is full of spam.

Banned but back. Because why not?

@michaelhroe

Sorry if I cause some confusion but, some "lovely" spammer copied and pasted my post and substituted their spam link for my legit one. It really ticked me off. I really don't like spammers.

Re: MeTv, Antenna TV and H&I TV

You can get those channels free with an over the air antenna. The antenna connects directly to your TV, you do a channel search to program. That's it

Re: MeTv, Antenna TV and H&I TV

@Smilincat2 In theory correct, but with a Roku/Fire (or any other smart TV) the tuner may be diminished.  Depends where you live & not all DMA's are served by all Diginets.

I found the tuners on newer TV's aren't as good as the some of the converter boxes.

Re: MeTv, Antenna TV and H&I TV

OTA is not always an option.  I live in a very rugged terrain of hills and valleys.

Re: MeTv, Antenna TV and H&I TV

I agree. I live in a rural location with trees and the terrain limiting my OTA reception to just 1 channel and 2 of its sub-channels (on a good day).
So many times questions asked about how to receive certain OTA channels are immediately “brushed off” by saying to just install an antenna. I’m sure most of us know that’s the optimum way to get OTA channels, but not for a large number of people.
If there are good (legal) ways to pick up some of these channels…let us know. That’s all we are asking.
