Roku Returns to Home Screen 4 Minutes After Turning TV Off

I have 3 TVs, each with a Roku Express 4K+, model 3941X2 (system v. 14.1).  Our primary app on each is YouTube TV.  I would like to be able turn the TV on and have YouTube TV come on the screen immediately, just like I had with cable TV.  One of the TVs works like this; the other two do not.  On the latter two, if you turn the TV off and then back on again in less than roughly 4 minutes, it comes back up with YouTube TV.  If you wait longer than that, it comes back at the Roku Home screen instead; this is NOT what I want.

What's the same for each Roku:

  • Plugged into a wall outlet,
  • Bandwidth Save and Power Save are disabled.
  • Screen saver enabled after 30 minutes (this does not affect the issue)

What's different is that the two problem Roku units are plugged directly into the TVs.  One of these is an LG; the other is a Samsung.  For the TV that works in the desired manner, the Roku is connected in a vastly more complicated manner.  (The Roku is plugged into an HDMI switching hub.  The output from that is fed into an HDMI wi-fi transmitter that has an output port.  The HDMI cable coming from that output goes into a different Samsung TV.  The wi-fi HDMI signal goes into a receiver in another room on a smaller TV.  I get the same behavior from both of these TVs with regard to the Roku, whether I use one or both.)

In both of the two problem Roku units, we usually use the Roku remote to turn the TV on and off.  I get the same behavior if I instead turn the TVs off with their respective remotes.

One article on similar issues suggested disabling HDMI-CEC on the TV.  When I first looked into this, I saw that it was enabled on one TV and disabled on the other.  For the TV that had this enabled, I disabled it and tested again: the Roku still returned to the home screen 4 minutes after turning off the TV.

A separate article mentioned the "1 touch play" setting under Settings / System / Control Other Devices.  This was enabled on both of the problem Roku units.  Disabling it had no impact on the issue.

The only thing I haven't tried is to use an HDMI-CEC blocking adapter to connect the Roku units to the TVs.

Any other suggestions?
