Re: Corrected Instructions to Recover Antenna TV Stations

Jump to solution

VernonF, I used your last guidance and, in order to keep my digital TV channels I managed my FAVORITES. I added them and all the other channels that Stream to my Favorites and now, in order to see my digital channels, I found that Roku has 2 sets of 'Live TV'. After powering up your TV, the first is under the HOME section on the left. However, that's different then the 'Live TV' Icon on the right side. Click the 'Live TV' icon on the right side of the screen, then choose 'FAVORITES' on the left side of that screen, and WALA!! your digital TV channels are the first listed if you choose them first when managing Favorites. Thanks so much for your help!

Nothing has worked to get the local channels on the Roku. I have tried every suggestion. The crazy part is that I get tons of other channels but no local stations. If you can suggest something entirely different from everyone else, I will give it a shot but all other suggestions don’t work.

We made a 3-minute video demonstrating how to see your antenna stations.  Go to YouTube and search for "How to find antenna stations on your Roku TV (2024)". The direct link is www.youtube.com/watch?v=qG9j0G888CU

We get the broadcast TV Antenna on the Roku TV.  It is hooked up correctly.   What we are asking is how to get the TV Guide on the channel.  It did show before but has disappeared recently and only shows "no information".  I have tried just about everything and still all the listings show "no information".

Thanks for posting here in the Roku Community, @Planet!

We understand that the LIve TV guide on your Home screen disappeared and we would like to delve into this matter to investigate further.

To make sure that no troubleshooting steps are left undone, you may review the steps below:

To access “over-the-air” broadcast television, the HDTV antenna must be connected to the Live TV input of your TV.

  1. Connect the coaxial cable from your HDTV antenna to the “Ant/Cable In” connector on the back of your TV
  2. Press Home on your Roku remote
  3. Select Live TV
  4. Follow the instructions on the TV screen to complete the setup

Note: If Live TV is missing, you can add it by going to Settings > TV inputs > Live TV > Set up input.

For more information, see this support article: How to set up and watch live TV on your Roku TV system.

Also, you have mentioned that this option disappeared. Could you please specify when this happened? Is this before or after a Roku Software update?

Please let us know your thoughts.

All the best,
Emman

Re: Lost All Antenna Channels

Dear Emman,

My antenna is on the roof of my house with a directional motor for optimizing reception.  I did not have any problems receiving broadcast stations until a Roku update changed my tiles & paths.  The new paths no longer took me to my broadcast stations.  My wife figured out how to get to the broadcast stations through a multi-step process & we posted instructions.  When people started complaining that the suggestions for how to get broadcast stations didn't work, I found that Roku had AGAIN changed options.  So we made a YouTube video that we posted to the Roku Community about how to get the broadcast stations.  As of 1/11 at 8:10pm, it has received 54 views.  I encourage you to look at the video here:  www.youtube.com/watch?v=qG9j0G888CU.
