Black screen. No sound. Just happened

Jump to solution

Tv only playing sound but no visual! My tv screen has randomly blacked out! I can’t see anything but I can still hear! The light on the bottom of the screen is solid white! I tried resetting it, (pushing the “button” in the back of the tv),unplugging it from the wall outlet and unplugging it from the tv and nothing is working!

@Banks2000, if you shine a bright light on the TV can you see a picture?  If so, your backlight has failed.  It seems to be a common problem for these cheap TVs.  I hope yours is still under warranty.  Look in the Roku TV section of the "community" and you'll find many, many others with the same problem.  You can try to contact the manufacturer (onn, TCL, Sharp, etc.), but if it's not still under warranty don't expect any help.
