This is still a problem and none of these suggestions actually work. @RokuTakashi a firmware update is needed to fix this, PLEASE GET THIS FIXED!
Granted this is a pain in the backside, but there is a solution. As others have said, change the name of the input “live tv” to something else (I changed mine to antenna). Then in settings change startup to last used. Then rescan channels, click on a channel, and go ahead and shut the tv off . When you turn it on next time it should go directly to that channel. Hope this helps!
So we have had this problem for MONTHS. I figured it out! So after you have scanned for antenna channels you’ll see them. But after you turn off your TV you THINK the channels are gone. But in fact you should not go down to Live TV on the left but stay at Home then over on the right under apps & inputs go to the live tv option. It should show your antenna channels and live tv channels. Oddly enough, you’d think it’s the same thing as going to live tv on the left menu, but it’s not.
Thanks. You’d think the Roku FAQs would provide this information or rename the 2nd “live tv” option so that their customers wouldn’t have to spend hours trying to figure it out.
You have to set up the TV INPUT and use the appropriate "INPUT app" on the Home Screen
It's confusing since the "LIVE TV" link on the left navigation is for only the live streaming channels. Not the local scanned channels. It's even more confusing that the Antenna app uses the same LIVE TV GUIDE and you can include all the streaming channels so they look the same except one has local channels and one does not.
Look for the Live TV with the Antenna icon app like the red one below. You can change the name and icon under the Settings / TV Inputs.
"LIVE TV" can come in different forms. It can be set up with an internal tuner or from an external box for cable or satellite which would probably come through an HMDI port. Each TV INPUT is treated differently.
Thank you. very much
