They need to make it to where we can add family members to the smart home app
We're grateful to have you here at the Roku Community, @dannyomo!
We appreciate you sharing your input with us, and we completely understand your point.
Please be aware that your Roku account will not be compromised if you don't share your personal credentials with other people you don't trust. You can log in to your account on their Roku smart home app without giving them your credentials over messages by navigating it yourself. If this option is an inconvenience for you and you still don't feel secure, we'll take note of it. Your convenience, satisfaction, and security are what we aim for, and that is why we'll do our best to achieve them.
Please let us know if there's anything else you'd like us to address, and we'd be more than happy to listen. Or feel free to create a new thread for different concerns. We'd love to help you anytime.
Kind regards,
Carly
Hi @Kaikai11,
Welcome to the Roku Community!
We understand your query about adding a family member to the Smart Home App. You can add the Smart Home App and sign in with your credentials on your family's or relative's phone.
If you have any other questions or concerns, please let us know.
All the best,
Chel
But what if you have a 4 other people I would have to share the password with them all
Hi @Kaikai11,
Thank you for posting here in the Roku Community!
Yes absolutely! Using the same login credentials, you can successfully add your family member and watch all the events happening in your home.
If you have any further inquiries or concerns, kindly inform us.
Thanks,
Anjelie
This encourages TERRIBLE security practices and opens up avenues for fraud (it’s my Roku account after all) and abuse. (once four people have my password it’s 4x as likely to be compromised).
Figure out how to make it possible to share a device with other user accounts (ask Wyze if you need to).

I feel that this is an unacceptable solution. I should not need to put my credentials on someone else's phone. You should implement a family mode for a smart home concept. Start with the most likely use cases before you design a product. It is a very likely use case that multiple family members will want to turn things off and on in the house. Encouraging the sharing of credentials on other devices is not a wise solution. Everyone is security conscious these days and can see right through this recommendation.
