Cameras not connecting and smart home app

Jump to solution

I have seven indoor cameras, one of them is a 360. The 360 camera has firmware than the others. I use the home app on three Roku streaming devices and Android phone and an Android tablet all of them have issues connecting to the cameras. I get the spinning dial and then unable to connect message. On the tablet the 360 camera is the only camera I can connect to. They used to work all fine on all devices before they updated. I really like they're streaming devices but these cameras are a disaster.

Hi @Dh55,

Welcome to the Roku Community!

Thank you for letting us know that you are having trouble connecting your Roku cameras to your mobile devices. No worries, we are more than happy to help you with this.

Before we proceed, could you please tell us the software version of your Roku cameras that are not working, and try to compare it with your Roku Indoor Camera 360 SE.

In the meantime, I highly suggest you reset and set again one of your Roku cameras:

Reset your device:

  1. Open the Home screen
  2. Select your device
  3. Tap Settings
  4. Scroll to the bottom of the page and tap Delete device

Connect your camera:

  1. Add your camera
    • Tap the plus sign from the navigation bar and select Add Device
    • Select Cameras & doorbells and choose Indoor Camera
    • Make sure your camera is powered on and the status light is flashing red, and then tap Next
    • Press the Setup button on the bottom of your camera and listen for "Ready to connect". When you hear the phrase, check the box and tap Next.
  2. Connect to Wi-Fi
  3. Scan QR code
    • Hold your camera about 5 inches from the QR code and listen for "QR code scanned. Please wait.". When you hear the phrase, check the box and tap Next.
    • Learn what to try if your camera cannot scan the QR code
  4. Finish setup
    • After you hear “Setup completed”, the status light turns solid blue and your camera is ready to use
    • Name your camera and press Finish

For reference, you can visit our support article on how to set up your Roku Indoor Camera SE.

Please keep us posted.

Riamie

I contacted support and chatted with them for about 20 minutes about my cameras not connecting in the app and while chatting they suddenly started working w/o mitigation. Coincidental? Just sharing my experience.
