This recent software version is really messed up, typical programmers never really tested it out, in that it looks like a lot of the features of the 'roku TV' were added to the 'ultra' in this case, and you can no longer add apps to your home screen, as the system tries to force you to add the app to your tv selection, which of course doesnt exist on your ultra desktop streamer.  Just a few moments of testing before rolling this out would have shown the programmers their error, and there are probably more.

I started having login problems recently. I thought at first I might have offended someone on YouTube. I now believe it is 100 percent ROKU. Using built in streamer in my Samsung no problem so far. My reasoning. If the screen saver comes on while YouTube is on guess what. I have to log on. Pretty sure that's RoKu started three days ago. Ultra RoKu newest on. Surprisingly I am getting a better picture from then native Samsung app. Did the App del restart app install multiple times. No luck. Any chance this is related to recent update?? Tonight got error "Backdrop unavailable"??

Is the issue only specific to YouTube? If so, have you tried the troubleshooting steps below to see if that resolves the issue?

1. Remove the channel, Highlight the channel tile on your home screen, and press Star to open the Options menu. Select Remove channel and confirm.
2. Restart your Roku device: Go to Settings > System > Power > System restart > Restart Now.
3. Re-install the channel: After your Roku device restarts, visit the Roku Streaming Store and add the channel again.

You may do this on the affected channels and let us know if the issue persists. In the meantime, you may also visit this support article: Issues playing content on your Roku device

I cannot Reset the Roku EVERYTIME there is an "UPDATE".

Thats Not a Sollution.

IF Aint Broke, Dont Fix it.

#1. Roku Ultra 4802x does Not allow to Stop Automatic "Updates".

#2. Subtitles are No longer working.

There is No subtitle option in None of the Streaming platforms:

Disney+, Paramount+, Netflix, apple Tv, etc..

But was available 1 month ago.

#3. There is No option / menu to configure the remote for a DIFFERENT TV. was REMOVED.

Roku Ultra should be called:

NonUltra. LOL

Removing features, what kind of "update" is that?

Software Update Menu should be called:

Automatic Downgrade. LOL

#4. There is No way to manually download Firmware / Operating system to a USB memory and Manually install a different version, like PC Desktop motherboards allow to download & install any Bios/Uefi/OS version.

Roku should be called:

Ridiculous NonUltra. LOL

#5. Why i pay for this?

If i can do the same & more with a Desktop PC?

Login to each streaming service web.

I was about to buy another, for another room/tv, but this update changed my mind. LOL

I need help with my Roku. I do not know all these technical terms however it is taking over my TV. It comes on and shows me some sling advertisement and then starts making the noise which normally means it’s connecting… Over and over and over, like a machine gun. I can be watching regular TV and Roku will come on in this fashion. Should I just chunk Roku and watch regular TV and get refunds all over the place

It’s not just one channel it’s the entire Roku is gone nuts.
