Setup Roku Streaming Stick 4K with Vankyo projector

Jump to solution

Hi,

I have a Vankyo E30T projector and a Roku Streaming Stick 4K.  Vankyo does not appear on list of support devices and the streaming stick can't be set up.  I've tried selecting ONN as the t.v and ROKU tv as the tv. Neither work.

Does anyone have any suggestions or solutions?

Thanks,

Beth C

Hi @ec5,

Thanks for posting in the Roku Community!

Thank you for letting us know about your Roku Streaming Stick 4K setup issues with your Vankyo projector. No worries, we're here to help.

If you’re setting up your Roku Streaming Stick 4K for the first time, it’s essential to start by connecting it to your Smart TV. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the activation process. Once you have successfully linked the Roku device to your Smart TV, you can then connect it to your Vankyo projector.

This setup allows you to bypass the activation step, as you have already activated your Smart device. Enjoy streaming content on a larger screen without any hassle.

I was able to set this up.  I tried again choosing ONN as the t.v.

Maybe this will help someone else: The first question about did I hear music was a yes.  The second and on questions about did I still hear music were yeses even though No as an answer was seleced by default.  I chose yes for all the questions.  I eventually was given a choice between trying later and something else (sorry for lack of detail).  I think I said try later.  The system then set up as I expected and everything works fine!

Thank you for your effort in responding. Unfortunately, I was trying to to connect it directly to the Vankyo projector. (I was able to connect an older roku device directly to the projector). I don't have a smart t.v. and use the projector to watch movie outdoors at night.

Beth
