Roku Streambar Pro - No sound when switching HDMI to canle

Jump to solution

Hello,

Just setup a new Roku Streambar pro to a Sony Tv (≈5 years old) yesterday and everything was working fine. Setup had a few challenges but not too bad.

However, when I turned on the tv today, everything is working fine within HDMI3/Arc where the streambar is set up to, but when I switch the hdmi to cable, there is no sound or way to control the sound seemingly. This was working fine yesterday when it was set up.

Has anyone else run into this issue or know how to fix it? I’m assuming it’s a tv setting that needs to change, but not sure exactly what.

Welcome and thank you for posting here in the Roku Community, @carlmielock!

We appreciate you reaching out regarding your inquiry. We'd be happy to assist you with this.

Firstly, we need to ensure that you aren't using a splitter and it should be directly plugged into the HDMI ports of your Sony TV. In addition, if you switched the HDMI input to cable, the sound should be coming from your TV unless you have also switched the audio inputs of your TV.

In this case, we highly recommend contacting their Customer Support to assist you in switching audio inputs.

Aside from this, please don't hesitate to let us know if you have further queries. We'd be glad to be of assistance.

Best regards,
Carly
