Roku LE keeps rebooting during initial setup

We just bought this Roku LE. Every time I try to set it up, it gets to the “we’re gonna download this and restart” but when it restarts it just loops. 

things we’ve tried:

  • Restarting the Roku LE
  • Restarting the router
  • Restarting the TV
  • Plugged into a surge protector
  • Plugged directly into the wall
  • Connecting to a different wifi

None of this helps. It installs the update but when it restarts it goes back to the “let’s get started” screen where you choose a language.

Have you tried doing a factory reset for your Roku? If not, you can try performing it by using the physical button on your Roku; it will appear similar to one of the following:

Locate the Reset button on the device, and once found, press and hold the button firmly for approximately 10 seconds. After holding the button, you will know the process is complete when an indicator light or status LED starts blinking rapidly. This typically occurs on most Roku devices after a factory reset.
