LG OLED G4 not supporting Dolby Vision 4K
My new LG OLD G4 (OLED55G4SUB) isn't being recognized as being compatible with Dolby Vision 4K on my new Roku Stick 4K and I'm sure it is. The Roku default has 1080p Dolby Vision and there's an un-recommended option for Dolby Vision 4K at 30fps.
The Roku page mentions a "Freesync" setting but I have no such option on the TV. My understanding is that any 30fps limitations were on TVs prior to 2018 and again this is brand new.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Re: LG OLED G4 not supporting Dolby Vision 4K
It's also worth noting that none of the LG options listed here:

...exist on these new LG OLE G4 models. Is anyone here using a Roku HDMI device with one of these new G4 models?
Thanks

Re: LG OLED G4 not supporting Dolby Vision 4K
1) Make sure you direct connect the Roku to the TV (at least temporarily) and turn on "4K" in the G4's settings: Settings/General/External Devices/HDMI Settings/HDMI Deep Color = 4K (do this for all the G4's HDMI inputs)
2) Disable DV always on: Settings/System/Advanced System Settings/Advanced Display Settings/Dolby Vision Always On = Off
If the connection through an AV/SB is the limiting factor (after connecting directly to the TV) then you need to adjust the AVR/SB settings (usually enable "Enhanced" mode for HDMI passthrough).

Re: LG OLED G4 not supporting Dolby Vision 4K
THANK YOU!! As to the second setting you mentioned, my G4 has no Advanced Display Settings at all under System/Advanced System Settings. Not sure about that, but the HDMI Deep Color clearly did the trick!!
Thanks a million times over! Was about to return this thing actually!
EDIT: I suspect that the second setting you referred to, may be what my TV has under Settings/General/External Devices/HDMI Settings/Dolby Vision PC, which was already off in my case. Again, can't thank you enough for the HDMI Deep Color setting. Not sure I would have ever found that!

Re: LG OLED G4 not supporting Dolby Vision 4K
The second (#2) setting is for the Roku, not for the TV (most dont want DV Always on, which is the default)
