I was told I can run my Roku from hotspot but it keeps saying it can't email me.

We understand you are having a problem activating your Roku device. No worries; help is here. Confirm that you entered your email address correctly. Email addresses are not case-sensitive, but extra characters that may have been added by mistake can prevent an activation email from arriving in your inbox.
