Roku mobile app

Why is it so difficult to watch a show directly from the app on my iPhone? I managed to do it once in the many times I have tried. So I know it can be done. Why is it not an option most of the time?

Please be advised that you cannot watch or stream channels or movies on the Roku mobile app. However, the Roku mobile app is a free application for iOS and Android devices that turns your mobile device into a control center for your Roku streaming device. You can also use the Roku mobile app to manage the apps on your Roku streaming device: Access the Store to add and remove apps.
