Ban me from the forum if you want. You all should be ashamed of @RokuEmmanuel-D for the way he’s handled this thread. I think the 8 pages of unsatisfied customers would agree.

i tagged every “Roku” community ambassador I could find to hopefully get a better response than “we’re looking at it”

 hopefully this kicks @RokuEmmanuel-D in the buttocks to actually give us a real response

i was looking for the same, I don’t want to see ads just to change the volume on my tv haha. 

i have an Apple developers license, if I can make something that works better for my devices I’ll publish it (tcl tv built in/Roku extreme/roku express) 

for free

I've had an issue for months where the iPhone app would lock up when I'd open another app. I'd have to force close the app and reopen it. Sometimes it would get stuck on the purple loading screen. Saw my pi.hole was blocking mobile.logs.roku.com. After I whitelisted that everything works great again.

After reading other people’s posts I swapped my router’s DNS to ‘CleanBrowsing-3’ and now the Roku app works fine on ios.  I’ve been up and about for a few hours now and the app hasn’t locked up. It is interesting that the android app worked fine but the ios app had issues.

Why is this marked as a solution?  It clearly doesn’t work 

As for the ad-blocking being a cause, I’ve had the problem before and after using a pi.hole, and the app still alternates between working and not

Sadly it was marked as solved well before we explored Adblock and DNS. Apparently uninstalling and reinstalling met the condition as “solved” when people were clearly still having problems.
