I successfully created a channel with my streaming videos using Direct Publisher
I want the channel to be private. I do not want it listed in any roku directory. I want to be able to control who sees the app, perhaps by sending my client a link or an invitation.
How?
Thanks!
Hi, to tag on to this, I am trying to set up a private/hidden channel using Direct Publisher as well. Without publishing, it looks like the channel will just be in preview mode for 7 days for testing. I'm not sure what happens after the 7 days are up?
I also need the feed to update periodically, but it looks like without publishing, the feed will need to be manually refreshed/ingested?
Any help is appreciated!
Or you can have a published channel with authentication (custom Roku build).

Cheers,
Does anyone know the answer to this? I've created channels in the past with the SDK where simply not publishing them made them private, but I'm playing with Direct Publisher now, and it sort of appears that they don't allow that for more than 7 days?
@infoman its the same with Roku Direct Publisher, the channel is private when you dont publish it, and there is no time limit on it.
Cheers
So then what is this referring to?
"We recommend previewing your channel on your Roku box. You may also use the device preview to allow others to preview your channel before you publish. Your preview will be available for 7 days while your channel is not published.
"To regenerate a device preview, go to Feed Status and click the Refresh Now button. Your preview will be generated after your feed has been reprocessed."
They are referring to the image preview of your channel (see screenshot below).
