If you can get to your settings within the channel, just edit the server IP address to be http://192.168.1.22:8001
I've done exactly that. The connection still fails, and I get the "failed to autoconfigure" error. Yet my laptop connects to the server without a hiccup.
What else can I try?

Is it possible that your Roku is on a different disconnected network? Is it accidentally on your neighbors wireless for example?

Re: My Media - Your Music and Video on the Roku DVP
I'm not sure why you can't get past the manual setup, but the problem with the automatic setup is that your server's IP is being retrieved as 127.0.1.1:8001 (you can see it here). When you start the server, it should print out "submitting 'http://192.168.1.22:8001' to rendezvous server as nuxq". Do you see that, or does it say it's submitting 127.0.1.1:8001?

The Roku is wired to the router. The server is on the floor above. The connection between the server and the router is also wired, mediated by a pair of Homeplug converters. No wireless connection is involved between the router, the Roku, and the server.
I hope this ASCII diagram comes out halfway intelligible:
router --- Roku
|------- Homeplug ====== Homeplug --- server
The only wireless connection is between the laptop and the router, and as I mentioned, the laptop has no problem getting to the server.
The router is a Linksys WRT54G running the Tomato firmware. Are there any known issues with Tomato?

Ah! Now it's being retrieved properly. Can you connect now? You should at least get a different error message if not.

Re: My Media - Your Music and Video on the Roku DVP
I just launched the server and then accessed the MyMedia channel on the Roku. Got 'failed to autoconfigure' again. No errors posted on the console at the server. After the error, I checked the configuration screen on the Roku, and it shows the server address as http://192.168.1.22:8001.

Question: Should I be able to ping the Roku from the server?

Re: My Media - Your Music and Video on the Roku DVP
Answering my own question: I can ping the Roku from the server. The Roku's IP on my network is 192.168.200.31. The Roku shows a gateway IP of 192.168.200.1.

Re: My Media - Your Music and Video on the Roku DVP
I'm not familiar with the Homeplug thing. It looks like there are two DHCP servers involved here, but I can't say if that's causing a problem. If you take a laptop and connect it to the router where the Roku is connected now, does it get a 192.168.200.x IP address and can it ping the server?
