Korean/Chinese SRT files not rendering on Roku

I am trying to sideload the subtitle tracks, my content has Korean/Vietnamese subtitles (these are in .SRT files). But the player doesnt render it properly, it shows up like this [][][][][][][] .!

I tried searching on Youtube for contents with Korean subtitles and its is rendered properly! I am not sure if srt is the way to go for non-roman characters? Can someone confirm what to use for Korean?

Re: Korean/Chinese SRT files not rendering on Roku

Hi gomad,

We have ran this issue by Roku before and currently the subtitles (and also inputfields) do not support any other font then the system font. Which is really unfortunate.
I don't know how Youtube does it, could be that they created there own subtitle manager or worked closely with Roku to achieve this, who knows.

What a Bummer! Roku has been in the market for long enough to make this happen!
