Roku App Requesting Superuser on Rooted Android Phone
I have a pretty significant concern regarding the Roku mobile app for Android.
Running stock OS on a rooted Pixel 7a, and frequently recently, the Roku app has begun requesting superuser (SU) permissions seemingly out of nowhere. I can think no reason why this app that is practically just a remote control should be asking for root permissions.
Is there any explanation for this behavior anywhere?

Re: Roku App Requesting Superuser on Rooted Android Phone
I also am having the roku app requesting Superuser and this is not okay in the slightest. What exactly does the app think it needs Root access? Whats triggering the requests? Roku has a lot to answer for here
If you don't know what superuser is: superuser access means someone has gained high-level control over a device. This access allows them to make significant changes to the system, potentially causing harm. They could install harmful software, delete important files, or change critical settings, compromising the device's security and your privacy. There is no reason a remote app should want this amount of control over your device
