ZVOX Z-BASE 555 WILL NOT RECOGNIZE NEW VOICE REMOTE

I just upgraded to Roku voice controlled remote. While my old Roku remote was able to be setup as control for the ZVOX soundbar I cannot get this new remote to be recognized. What's different with newer remote?
