I bought a Roku streaming stick Express 4X from Walmart with a simple remote.  If I buy a new Roku TV Control remote, will it just start working to turn my tv on and off with my existing Express 4X stick?

No, first it has to be paired to your Express 4k, then it has to be programmed for your brand of tv. Two separate procedures.

Did you recently buy it? Why don’t you return it for the one you want with the proper remote?

Thanks, this is as I suspected.  It would be as if my Express 4K stick came with a tv control remote.
