Voice Remote Consistently Fails, Cannot Reset When Unplugged

Jump to solution

I am having the same issue described here: https://community.roku.com/t5/Remotes/My-rc538-remote-won-t-work-without-the-charger/td-p/714135

I have reset everything multiple times. I can plug the remote in, press the button for 20 seconds, and it will reconnect with TV temporarily. After unplugging for ~5 minutes the green LED light comes on permanently and the remote stops functioning until I repeat the process

Warm greetings here in the Roku Community, @DZacc10!

Thanks for letting us know about the remote issues you are currently experiencing and we'd be happy to find you the best resolution for this.

Kindly try to follow the suggestions provided below to see if this will make any difference:

  • Try a different micro USB cable or a different USB charger.
  • Try to plug it into a different power source/outlet.
  • Try to press and hold the Back and Home buttons simultaneously for about 30 seconds to reset it. After doing so, re-pair it again.

Please let us know how it goes, and we'll continue assisting you from there.

Best regards,
Carly
