Using remote control with different TV

I just purchased a new remote & Roku stick a couple of weeks ago.  I just received an email that I can purchase an upgraded remote with rechargeable batteries, ear devices can be plugged in, etc. https://www.facebook.com/reel/1715257675627551?mibextid=QD4fTM I'd like to get it.  My question is, can I use the remote control I just got a couple of weeks ago, with an older Roku device in my guest bedroom? (The remote that goes with the device in my guest bedroom isn't working properly)

Re: Using remote control with different TV

It depends on the model, if its so old it predates the use wifi remote, then no. If its express 3700 or express+ 3710 then the answer would be no too. Those only work with IR remotes. All express and express+ models after that would work with your Stick wifi remote. And all models after 2013. Starting with Roku 3 can too.
