I am hoping somebody can assist us. We purchased a TV, sound bar and ROKU. We had the Geek Squad set them all up so the ROKU remote would control the power and sound. We haven't used the sound bar or TV remote since that setup. Everything has worked just fine. Tonight, I pushed a button or series of buttons that resulted in the sound bar to verbally respond with "this volume is not controllable by TV remote" and "the devices volume is not controllable by TV remote" -- whenever we turn the volume up or down with the ROKU remote. The volume does change; but every time we change the volume the sound bar responds with one or the other message noted above. Anybody have any idea how to fix this? Thanks
We're grateful to have you here in the Roku Community, @24boster!
We'd be more than happy to assist you with your concerns.
Firstly, what specific Roku streaming player is connected to your TV? Also, what type of Roku remote are you controlling your soundbar from? Here's an article to help you Identify the Roku remote.
Furthermore, If this is a simple remote that uses invisible infrared light to transmit button presses, it might be possible to control your soundbar through IR, but the system doesn't allow or support it, thus the error message "this volume is not controllable by the TV remote."
We'll be anticipating your response as we are more than eager to find you the best resolution possible.
Best regards,
Carly

@24boster, you probably turned on some kind of accessibility setting for the TV. Use its remote to turn it off in one of its menus.
Hi - that is our assumption as well; but unfortunately we can't find any feature that solves the problem. We tried to search in settings; but there is nothing that we can find.
Hi - we have the ROKU Ultra and the Voice Remote. We are pretty sure we accidentally turned on/off some accessibility setting. The ROKU remote has worked w/o issue since last night when I accidently pushed "something" that resulted in the issue below.
What's the make and model number of your TV? It seems like there's a few (LG and Samsung that I know of) that use a long press of the mute button to access accessibility options.
Omg! Genius! Holding the mute button on the Roku Remote took me to a menu where I then had to use the TV remote to disable the accessibility. No more irritating voice! Thank you!
