I have a “simple” remote and an Onn Roku Tv, this is the remote that came with the tv but today I noticed a problem. Whenever the batteries are in the remote you cannot control it, the remote just turns the tv up to max volume and the only way to stop it is to take out the batteries. I was wondering if there is anyway I can fix this. I tried unplugging the tv and cleaning the remote to make sure the button isn’t stuck I even tried to do research on what to do but no one seems to have the same problem/answer. If anyone could help that would be greatly appreciated!

Remotes do go bad, this being Onn Roku tv, you will have to get in touch with tv manufacturer, Onn or Walmart. Since Roku only supplies UI for the tv. Roku and Amazon both sell Roku TV simple remote for about $10, this may be fastest way to get you back to streaming?

Could be the problem isn't the remote, but the Roku's RESPONSE to the remote.

• Does the same thing happen if you use the Roku remote app on an Android or iOS device instead of the physical remote?
• Does a system restart make the problem go away?  Settings / System / Power (if you have this option, otherwise skip) / System restart / Restart.
