My most recent set of batteries died so I put in new ones which worked for 2 days, then stopped working, now when I put batteries in the remote has a high-pitched whine and doesn't work.
Double check your batteries are installed correctly. Some Roku remotes have the batteries facing the opposite direction, while others have both pointing the same way.

Hi Dan, appreciate the sense check, but I had the same thought and double checked the markings in the battery cavity, it's happening with the correct orientation.
