The real solution is to force the firmware update via the secret menu.  Once I did that the problem disappeared for me and all my clients.

It's a simple BUG which Roku CAN'T ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR so they keep gaslighting and pretending they've never heard of it before.

I saw that about pushing the up/down at the same time. It worked to turn it down for a second and then nothing!

Having the same problem with two remotes.  Thinking of moving on from Roku.   Thank god Costco takes returns.

• tracker ID when this issue occurs (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times, and provide us with this ID)
• steps to reproduce the issue you are seeing

Once we have this information, we will be able to pass it along to the appropriate Roku team to investigate further. We look forward to your responses and gathering your details.

In addition to the information you have provided, can you please provide the tracker ID when this issue occurs (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times)? as well as how long has the issue been occurring? lastly, what brand and model of TV?

Once we have this information, we will be able to investigate further.
