EXACT SAME ISSUE! I have a Roku voice remote with a Roku stick, power and volume buttons work fine! Sometimes the other buttons work but most of the time they don't. I have to restart my Roku to use the remote EVERY TIME. It's super annoying 🤬

Hi,

Sounds like she's having the same issue I'm having with my new Streaming Stick 4K. At random, the remote stops controlling everything but the TV volume. The only fix I've found for it so far is to unplug the USB from my TV to force the stick to restart but it goes right back to not responding a few hours later.

This is super annoying and I'm considering returning the device.

Hi @RokuDanny-R ,

I have a similar problem. After a few days, the voice remote gets disconnected. Only the infra red commands work to control Roku and the TV.

I’ve tried power cycling Roku, removing the remote batteries and pressing the pairing button. The green light blinks but no pairing happens.

I have to do a factory reset to re-establish a connection.

What else can I do?

edit: I’m using a Roku Express 4K+

This did not work.

Turns out this works

1. Using alkaline batteries instead of rechargeables

2. Keeping Roku constantly powered via a USB charger instead of the USB on my TV

Important: If you switch off the power to Roku, remember to remove the batteries or they’ll drain in a few days.

Hi! Where are you seeing this ‘in use’ message?

I don’t have a gaming remote, just a voice remote and I only see ‘in use’ when I go into settings > remotes & devices > remotes > about.

Not sure if your remote shows different alerts/notifications

Here’s another thread with a similar issue.
