Hoping someone can help me
out here. My Roku remote started Not being able to hear me. I’ve tried the Roku app and that works fine for voice command but for some reason my remote doesn’t work anymore. Nothing is changed in my environment and I’ve done the normal troubleshooting techniques. Change the batteries, restarted the unit and repaired the remote. Does anyone here have an advice or a resolution to this?
Is your Roku software up to update?
SETTINGS....SYSTEM....SYSTEM UPDATE....CHECK NOW
Should be at Software version 9.4.0 Build 4200
If so, or after manual update, then do a System Restart.
SETTINGS....SYSTEM....SYSTEM RESTART
See if that helps.
Also, some have had success rebooting their Router (probably resets/clears any interference that may be happening on network that may be affecting communication with remote) after performing above.
Obviously you need to stop eating while youre doing this.
Ha ha. I have the same problem as thie original poster. Can I get the 7 seconds of my life back I wasted reading your post?
Thanks for the post.
Can you please specify the issue you are experiencing? What Roku model device are you using? What are the exact steps to reproduce the issue? What troubleshooting steps have you already taken to try to resolve the issue?
With more detailed information, we will be able to assist you further.
Thanks,
Danny
Replacing the remote batteries fixed my issue.
Apparently, the batteries had a low charge.
I have the Roku Ultra with a hard-wired ethernet connection. To duplicate the problem of getting "Unable to hear you" error message, just turn the Roku on and give a command. It happens 100% of the time now.
Remote batteries are at 54% capacity.
System restart provided no joy.
Software is ver. 11.0.0 build 4193.
Thanks for the post.
It looks like other Community users were able to resolve the issue by replacing the batteries. Have you tried this troubleshooting step to see if that helps what you are experiencing?
Please keep us posted and we will be able to assist you further.
Thanks,
Danny
Yes, I tried that right away. No difference.
In fact I have tried all of the above recommendations to no avail.
But thanks anyway.
And who would replace batteries that are only 40% used?
