Remote connectivity issues

My Roku remote is constantly dropping connectivity. I have changed batteries numerous times, tried repairing, etc. Disconnecting and resetting the batteries, or putting in a fresh pair entirely, brings it back to life for anywhere from minutes to a day, but the problem has persisted for some time now. The battery level of the remote according to the homepage is constantly at 34%, no matter what fresh pair (or old pair for that matter) of batteries I use. Has anyone else experienced similar issues? Our Roku device is a Roku Express 4K+ (model 3941X) and our remote is a RC786 voice remote. We have had both for about 2 years.

I assume the thing could just be broken, and I need to order a new one, but it would be super frustrating to have to do that every two years.

  • Could you please share with us the type of Roku remote you have?
  • Is there a pairing button on the back of the remote?
  • Please provide the serial number of the Roku device paired to the remote. 
  • When did the issue begin?
