Roku Voice Remote Pro (2nd Edition) getting message to charge and not charging

I received this remote with my ROKU device about 3 weeks ago. I charged it fully before pairing with the tv. I got the message already that the remote needed to be charged. It will not charge showing any lights at all. I did try plugging and unplugging as mentioned but that has not worked either.

Thank you for informing us about the issues you've encountered charging your Roku remote. We're here to help!

We recommend resetting your Roku remote by pressing and holding the Back and Home buttons simultaneously for about 20 seconds. After doing so, please pair it again. Additionally, you can try using a different charger cord or power source to see if this resolves the issue.

Regarding your concerns about the charging cable that came with the Roku Voice Remote Pro 2nd edition, could you please provide a photo of the USB cord?

For your reference, please see below the cable that should have come with the Roku remote

This is not a reply. Also need to mention the charge cable that came with my remote and my husband's backlit remote came with a micro plug, not c plug!
