Please be aware that voice-operated remotes require a stable network connection to function correctly. It is possible that the network may have refreshed and disconnected from your remote. It is functioning through IR as it still allows control over power and volume.
Let's troubleshoot your old remote by pressing and holding the Back and Home buttons simultaneously for about 20 seconds to reset it. After doing so, pair it again to see if this will make any difference.
