My Roku Express is only about a week old and it suddenly stopped working. Every time I go to use it, I have to take the batteries out and put them back in. Inside the remote where the positive touches that little piece of metal, on one side is a brownish color now while the other is still silver. Not sure why this would all of a sudden happen? I'm the only person who's used it and I keep it put up so no one or nothing can touch it.
Is a battery leaking? It's not unusual for the batteries that come with these things to be junk.
I have had the same experience on more than a few occasions. If my remote doesn't work at all, and I give the remote a smack on the bottom (to jostle the batteries), the remote works again. No need to remove the batteries.
The batteries are good. There is no leakage. The terminals are in perfect condition. By the way, I have a 1-year old Roku Ultra.
Perhaps, there is not enough tension on the battery-to-terminal contacts.?.?
