its been a problem in the past with the battery drain in the remote but has gotten far worse recently
now i have to replace the batteries every two days even when removed at night when the roku is not in use
please fix this issue or recommend a replacement remote with better battery life
Hi everyone,
Thanks for the posts.
Please be aware that the Roku 4 model devices are older and are most likely no longer under warranty.
If you need a replacement remote for your Roku device, you can purchase a compatible remote on our Products page here: https://www.roku.com/products/accessories/player.
Thanks,
Danny
Its not worth replacing such an old model remote, upgrade to newer roku with new remote included. Check your upgrade page there maybe a deal for you:
It seems a shame to have to replace my Roku 4 that works great or to have to spend money for a hardware issue that the company should resolve
Your model is 7 years old way out of warranty, roku may help with a new remote that's up to them. You may enjoy apple tv+ on a newer roku, your's doesn't have, be prepared for other newer channels not being available on your roku 4. How's the fan noise?
I am having similar issues with much newer remotes. The batteries last days/weeks. I think I have swapped out batteries at least 50 times!
Any help or suggestions?
Thanks
Thanks for the post.
What Roku model device are you using? Are you using the Private Listening feature on your remote?
With more detailed information we will be able to assist you further.
Thanks,

Similar problem. Now I put in brand new batteries into the remote, but device still says they are no good, even though my meter says they are max. I decided to just order a new remote.
I have not seen a reply from a Roku Employee on the Remote Battery issue
at least let me know what kind of aftermarket remote will work with my Roku 4
i,m not interested in purchasing a newer model as my Roku 4 works fine
if there is no solution for the remote battery drain then i will need to seek another streaming device from a company with no remote control issues like Apple
