I just bought a streaming stick 4k and installed it correctly. Device started up and now it’s stuck on the pair you remote screen and remote doesn’t pair just stays blinking the green light. This is frustrating that I can’t use device after I have purchased it.
Did the stick come with a USB cable with a "bump" in it? If so, are you using that cable? Those cables are known to go bad and it's not unusual to get a bad one out of the box. It may be easier to just return the whole thing if that's the case.
Not that I see, no kinks or bumps on the cord.
Sorry, but it won't work without the original usb cable with bump, like this one:
Roku USB Power Cable with Long-range Wi-Fi® Receiver | Roku
That's if you have the 3820 or 3821 Roku 4k Stick. If you have the 3810 stick+ then you need this one:
Roku USB Power Cable with Long-range Wi-Fi® Receiver (Models 3810 & 3811) | Roku
I have the long-range receiver attached and still can’t get my remote to pair.
things we’ve tried
all in different combos.
I can’t connect using the app on my phone so I can only guess that the device isn’t connected to the network.
What else can we try?
decided to just factory reset the unit and the remote is now paired.
however, when it came back up with the setup wizard, it initially said the AWR (Advanced Wireless Receiver) was not connected (when it was) so this is definitely part of the problem.
Reseating it and rebooting the stick seemed to have resolved the problem but I think the connector has gotten loose & is not as tight as it used to be - is there anything we can do to make it tighter again?
